2017 in Review

Happy New Year! The past year has been my first dedicated full-time to Lego design, and it has been truly amazing. My Flickr account passed 1000 followers, and I've again had models featured on both The Lego Car Blog (Maxda MX-5 and Technical) and The Brothers Brick (NZ Fantail).

A large part of my work has been an ongoing collaboration with BlueBrixx, featuring a range of WWII models (5 of 14 designs are shown above) now becoming available as kitsets. My work for HispaBrick Magazine has also led to a featured interview (HBM028) as well as the opportunity to do an early-access set review (21312 Women of NASA).

Between other fun and challenging commissioned projects (such as the Airbus A320 and Razorback fighter jet pictured above) I've also managed some smaller builds for myself (e.g. the Light Strike Vehicle, HEMTT Launcher, Alakuneda Think Tank, and Blade Runner 2049 Blaster). I've attended the Christchurch Brick Show and also met new AFOLs while helping organize another local brick show. I already have several projects lined up for 2018, so stay tuned for more from BrickMonkey MOCs!
